What happens when you choose a chat file

The browser reads the file locally; ZIP exports are opened on-device and the detected chat text is passed to a local Web Worker. The parser identifies timestamps, senders and message content, then calculates the report in that browser session.

What is stored locally

The selected interface language and, after a successful purchase, a signed unlock token can be stored in browser local storage. The token contains a Partner Hub order identifier and one-way report fingerprint, not chat messages. Because the hosted payment page navigates away from Unpack My Chat, the current report source may be stored temporarily in this device’s browser IndexedDB so the exact same X-Ray can be restored after payment; that local checkout copy is deleted after the order is successfully claimed. If you use the installed Android share-target flow, the shared export is placed temporarily in same-origin browser Cache Storage so the app can receive it, then that temporary file is deleted as soon as X-Ray consumes it.

What the analyser does not need

The core product does not require your WhatsApp password, WhatsApp account credentials, contact list or access to other chats.

Payments

The R49.99 checkout is created by Partner Hub, which controls the product offer and sends the hosted transaction to Paystack. The browser sends Partner Hub the selected product ID, offer code, billing email and, when applicable, Partner Hub referral identifiers. Unpack My Chat does not send the raw chat text, sender names or message content with the payment. After Partner Hub verifies a paid order, Unpack My Chat stores a server-side binding between that Partner Hub order ID and a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint for the local X-Ray so one purchase cannot be reused to unlock arbitrary reports.

Affiliate program data

Affiliate signup, referral attribution, commission records and payouts are handled through the separate Partner Hub service. When a visitor arrives through a valid Partner Hub referral link, Unpack My Chat stores the referral code and click ID locally for up to the attribution period and forwards those identifiers at checkout. Affiliates do not receive chat files, message content, report data or participant names from Unpack My Chat.
